MARCH - JULY…2022
Well we have been busy and the blog has received no attention so here i sit with my wifes phone in hand going over memories and photographs from the last 5 months…
MARCH.
Was full of beautiful sunsets, playing cricket, a trip to paradise falls, we learnt to drench the sheep and cut their toenails and mum and dad even squeezed in a date at the mountain view restaurant / pizzini winery Whitfield.
APRIL.
Utako was making soaps, planting vegetables, we have been bottling and boxing a lot of our oils and hydrosols, we have had more friends visiting and our wood fired pizzas are really coming along. We hosted our first big event, an easter egg hunt in the rose garden. It was a warm day and all the kids has a great time hunting for eggs. we served the most wonderful easter themed cupcakes made by our wonderful friend Lenny and another friend Erika helped us on the coffee machine. It was a great team effort and thanks to all the help we not only survived but had great fun at our very first of many events.
MAY.
Trips to Yarrowwood cafe and donnas antique shop, cleaning the chimney for the first of many fires, children’s books and bill the school bus driver. A bullbar and lights for dads car, chooks and eggs and mowing grass.
Two wonderful florist friends came to visit from melbourne, talk of flower workshops for this spring season.
Nan and uncle came up to visit, more pizzas, lunches and a trip to Benalla art gallery.
Autumn leaves, warm jumpers, beautiful mushrooms beneath the pines.
Vintage cars stopped to visit.
We picked some olives and Utako made them good to eat our first time from own olive tree! We love to make olive oil next year, we all god covid to missed this time for chance but you know we can not do everything right?
The soaps the boxes continued pilling up at our feet. More international order inquiry start coming which very exciting for us.
JUNE.
Working hard on new logos with a Kiyo from Japan. Winter is here and the cold and the rain. Leaky rooms and cold winter blasts were all huddled around the fire as long as the wood lasts. Picking lemons and kicking the footy, trips back to melbourne to spruce up our rental. Using the distill with our citrus fruits the barn lit up at nite and the warmth from inside. Utako has been taking pictures of the products while working long into the night on our new website and online store.
Two new kittens, cotton and socks, my daughters dream has come true and so has mine, the dog for some reason seems to like them.
La Cantina winery open day was fun with wine and music and the warmth of the heaters, a perfect winters day and a warm tummy full of lasagne.
Dad had friends from melbourne come up, more pizza, more fires it was so good to catch up.
We finished of June with Sonos birthday at the Swanpool cinema, its not every day you get to choose the movie you would like at the local cinema, so Clifford the big red dog it was.
JULY.
The trees are bare but the grass is green.
Our new logo is complete I hope you like it as much as we do.
We have spent much of this month pruning and tending the garden, generally getting ready for spring.
All the damask rose bushes are are pruned and ready to spring back to life.
With one month of winter to go we are keeping busy in the garden, living and learning and enjoying the seasons.
