AFTERNOON INTERMEDIATE REPURPOSING CLASS
1:00pm–4:00pm
Give a treasured piece of fabric or clothing a beautiful new life.
Perhaps you have your grandmother’s dress carefully stored away, a favourite outfit you no longer wear, or a meaningful fabric you would love to transform into something special for yourself, a child or a new baby.
Bring along your treasured garment or fabric and explore the possibilities with Suzanne. It could become a bag, a keepsake, a special gift or something completely new. Suzanne will help you look at your piece in a fresh way and guide you through the process of turning old memories into something useful, beautiful and personal.
This class is designed for participants who already have some sewing experience and would like to develop their skills while discovering the creativity and joy of repurposing.
Price:
Youth (10–17 years): $120
Adults (18+): $150
ABOUT SUZANNE DOLE
Suzanne’s lifelong love of sewing began at the age of eight, when she learned from her mother and grandmother. By the age of 15, she had created her own debutante dress, and she later went on to make clothing for entire wedding parties.
Suzanne completed formal fashion training at Box Hill TAFE and has worked in the fashion industry with Country Road. Her love of sewing has also taken her overseas, where she taught sewing in Nepal.
Today, Suzanne brings together her experience in fashion, teaching, sustainability and repurposing. She is passionate about helping people of all skill levels feel confident and self-sufficient with sewing, while encouraging them to see the possibilities in fabrics and garments they already own.
Her warm and practical teaching style makes sewing approachable, enjoyable and inspiring—whether you are sitting at a sewing machine for the first time or giving a much-loved garment an exciting new purpose.
